22" David Roman Drums Mazhar All Davidromandrums instruments come with air-tuning system. It's very convenient and you can change pitch very quickly. Check it out here. My favourite DRD lapstyle drum is the 22" Mazhar with heavy frame and goat or thin calf skin. It has an amazing tuning range, warm bass and sharp Taks. In the video you see the same drum (goat skin) in 3 different tunings. video: click here to order 22" David Roman Drums Airweight The airweight is as light as it gets. I still have to find a lighter 22" Drum than this one. It's very comfortable to play it upright but it still has the sound and resonance of a large drum. Great to play upright, if you are looking for a lapstyle drum, the Mazhar or Bodhran gives more stability. video coming soon click here to order 14" David Roman Drums Tar This is a very light and easy to handle drum not only for beginners and a super-sharp solo drum. I like to tune it tightly and it will give you a high, sharp sound. Video from a solo concert at Potsdamer Platz in 2004. video: click here to order 14" David Roman Drums Mazhar Deeper frame and heavier than the airweight. Soundwise less sharp but more punch. I like the thumbhole better than a cutout, but both is possible. Medium-thin skin. The video is from my first DVD. video: click here to order 22" David Roman Drums Daf thin goat skin, Persian style Daf with chains inside the frame and airtuning system video: click here to order
Frame Drum Mounting System:

This mounting system was developed by David and his grandfather. All metal parts are hand-made and it is available in very limited numbers only.
It consists of 2 parts, the first one being a metal module that can be attached to any frame drum with a thumbhole without modifying the drum. The metal rod can be used with standard drumhardware like the Pearl AX-25 in the second picture. This way the drum can be mounted to cymbal stands or similar devices. The module comes in 2 sizes, one for drum diameters between 14"-18", another one for diameters between 18"-22".
The second, optional part of the system is a metal arm (3rd picture) that allows mounting of shakers or other small percussion inthe inside of the frame (4th picture).
You can check out the shaker option in this video on youtube.
